A jewel of a piece with real character. This standing Napoleon III jardinière has a marquetry-inlaid top of stylized palmettes and shells in golden satinwood, framed by a delicate pierced brass gallery. The top lifts off to reveal the interior well—ready for a potted plant, orchid, or dried arrangement, or simply used as a hidden storage compartment. Three graceful splayed legs are crowned with beautifully cast gilt-bronze fox heads—the detail that makes this one special—and finish in cast brass feet, joined by a shaped stretcher with a turned central finial. A wonderful accent beside a chair, sofa, or in an entry.

NOTE FROM THE CURATOR: Célani Home sources with a century of use already accounted for. Some of our pieces come with old repairs done by careful hands: none of it is damage, all of it is age. Every listing describes condition as we find it. Nothing here is flawless, and nothing here is new.

Because so many of our pieces have already survived a century or two, we want them to reach you in one piece for the next century. We work with a trusted delivery team that handles in-home delivery

Because of the nature of vintage, antiques, and furniture, all sales are final and sold "As-is". Antiques come with the small marks and signs of age that come from being loved and used long before they reached us. We photograph and describe condition as honestly as we can, but we always want you to feel sure before you buy.

Please go over the measurements carefully and picture the piece in your actual space. If you have a question, ask it before you check out. If you want another angle, a close-up of a particular detail, or more on the condition, just email us. We would always rather send ten more photos than have a piece arrive and not be what you pictured.

What shipping costs comes down to the piece itself, its weight and size, along with where it's headed. To receive a shipping quote please complete the form below.

Please note, shipping can take anywhere from 4-12 weeks.
