A beautiful French Louis XVI style buffet in warm mahogany, crowned by a truly special Breche Violette/Viola marble top—one of the most prized of the French breccia marbles. The stone is the star here: a warm cream ground dramatically veined in violet-purple, grey, and soft green, with deep pockets of darker color that give it extraordinary movement and depth. Every Breche Violette slab is one-of-a-kind, and genuine antique tops in this rich coloring are getting harder to find—these marbles are so desirable they're often salvaged and reused on their own, which makes a piece like this, with its original top intact, a wonderful find.
Beneath the marble, a ribbed tambour door rolls open for storage, framed by fluted brass-trimmed columns, with two curved open end shelves perfect for display. Gilt-bronze swag drawer pulls and fluted tapered legs complete the refined silhouette. Elegant and practical—a real statement piece for a dining room or entry.
