An exceptional Louis XVI commode dating to the 18th century, crafted in oak that's been bleached to a soft, weathered patina. Three graduated drawers are beautifully hand-carved with laurel wreaths, ribbon-twist and beaded borders, and recessed panels—period craftsmanship at its best. Fluted quarter-columns flank the case, and it stands on turned tapered legs. The top drawer retains its original working lock and key. A genuine antique with real presence, equally at home in an entry, bedroom, or dining room.
