A handsome piece of antique French bronze salvage, a furniture mount cast as a floral and foliate swag in the Louis XVI taste, with a central wreath of roses and blossoms opening from trailing laurel branches. Substantial and heavy in the hand, with a beautiful aged patina, deep and warm with soft touches of verdigris that only come with time. A mount of this kind once ornamented a piece of fine furniture, a commode, cabinet, or bed, and it carries all the quality of the original casting.
